Top 5 Reasons You Shouldn't Become A Blogger

Hello my people, here I am again with my “Top5Reasons”. Today, we are to go through some problems that is menacing people in blogosphere.

Like you and I know, it’s no more news that blogging has taken over the world and in fact rapidly sending journalism into exile. But, while some bloggers are really making names, fame and fortunes in the easiest ways, some bloggers find it difficult to breakthrough in the world of blogging. The reasons for their failure could be acceptable and that is why I will love to address those with the listening ears today.

It is demeaning to see someone who calls himself a blogger asking some questions that are not fit for the worst of ears.See these:

*Is10mb enough to blog per week? cos that's wat I can afford

*I need a hosting, domain and professional blog design but only have #500. Can I get?

And how unimaginable to see 21st century bloggers handling blogging with nonchalance: some see it as an inherited money box. And people in this bracket keep on asking, *how much can I make in a month when I start my blog?*

Whether you are a failed blogger, a failing one, or you are aspiring to become a pro blogger, here are the top 5 points you should ruminate on before you continue the venture. To put it better, I would say, here are top 5 reasons to not become a blogger:

1. PASSION:

The number one tool to succeed in life is the powerful emotion and love for that particular thing you engage yourself in. You should never become a blogger if you have no passion for it.  You don’t blog because you came across Linda Ikeji’s profile online and read the amount of money she makes per day, and her list of cars she has in the name of blogging. No! It doesn’t work that way. Of course, there are many bloggers that started because of Linda and quit the game eventually because they found it hard to survive.  It is understandable that there was there was no passion for it; they only went for quick money and there is no such money in blogging.

Settle down, engage yourself in self-dialogue. Ask yourself, ”Do I really have interest in blogging?” Most importantly, how would you feel if you fail to make a penny from your blog for years? If your answer is not about passionate endurance, you should not be a blogger. It’s only the passion that keeps you moving and shifts you to the success lane.

Before I started blogging, I’m proud to say I didn’t see anybody as my mentor or role model. I only developed interest due to my addiction to staying online day and night on social networks and I felt blogging would work well for me and joined. And this, for real has been the only thing that keeps me going. Be passionate!!! And remember this... *When the Purpose of a thing is not known, it's abuse is inevitable*

2. SOCIAL INFLUENCE:

To be a 21st century blogger, you need to have a commendable social influence. You must have a social presence that commands attention and is really working. Many bloggers these days care less about social influence hence, thy become non-social.

And what do I mean by “non-social”? It simply means the inability to relate to the society, audience, media and social networks. You shouldn't just sit down there and be thinking you can break through without being social; you interact with people about your blog, comment on other blogs, be prolific and productive on social networks. You would almost become a failure if you don't develop all these but want to start a blog. There is no gainsay that many have made this mistake so very well, and many will continue to fall victim of same.

Being Sociable is a natural characteristic of any blogger even before they dreamt of becoming one. I could remember a friend that is very good in the blogging world, but would feel there was no need for people to know he owned a blog. He kept everything silent, maybe he felt shy of his competence. I always would tell him, you cannot succeed with this kind of attitude.

As a proof, people would skip his blog and come to meet me about favorable things simply because they knew me as a blogger. At times it’s your social personalities that drives people to your blog and make it noticeable to even a wider audience. Be social! Won't you?

3. INCONSISTENCY:

Why would you even dream of becoming a blogger if you are too busy to stay on a system for hours? Would you expect me to visit your blog today, finish reading what you wrote, then I feel bored and I decide to visit your portal again the following week, and then nothing has changed?  That’s how you lose readers, you shouldn’t expect me to come back again. It’s not all about posting to your blog, but researching things online is one of the big deals. So, if you cannot dedicate at least half of your time to the internet, then you are not good to go. And then, to should stop thinking about being a blogger.

Again, when you are busy bragging about a knowledge you know that would keep dragging people to your blog, the method has already become stale because the consistent bloggers have already found some other more efficient ways to achieve the same result and you are lagging behind already of a knowledge you know nothing about due to your absence in the routine.

If blogging is not in your top priorities, and would hinder you to meet your priorities, please don’t go near it because you will have nothing to gain, rather wasting your time. Won't you be Consistent?

4.THE FEAR OF CRITICS:

Have you ever sat down for once and ask yourself who among the top people in the world today have not been criticized? Goodluck Jonathan, Buhari, Obama, Mandela or who???  One indisputable attribute of Criticism is the fact that it keeps you going because you know where you are making mistakes. If you think you can not cope with negative comments or complaints on your blog, then you are not supposed to be a blogger.

Some respected bloggers there prefer receiving insults on their blogs to receiving praises; the critics do more good to you than harm because you grab their points and fix it to welcome another, and fix it again. In my early days of blogging, I felt so depressed receiving insults about my blog, designs, whack posts. But I would carefully grab the points they made and found the solutions promptly. Until today, I still wish the comments keep coming. Because I feel like I’m not doing it right without people condemning my wrong actions. Always welcome critics, if you ever dream of becoming a successful blogger.

5. INVESTMENT:

One thing I always regret, is the fear of spending money on my blog when I started. I had thought, why would I keep spending money on something I’ve not made a penny from? I was not knowledgeable to detect when you really need to earn in blogging, and I am not even ready to go study that. I just want to do what is right and expect the result in due time.
The idea is, you need to spend first: you either spend to pay for some pro bloggers in designing your blog or do any other thing you cannot do yourself.

Another way you would spend money is on advert; I’ve not seen a good advert route that offers you free one. I won't even fail to mention buying of data. If you are not ready to use some gigabytes of data per month, quickly take a backflip and quit blogging as I speak.  Spending money on your blog is not a bad idea, and neither is it a crime. If you think it is, don’t blog because you will fail as a blogger. Let me repeat that again.... If you won't spend some money on your blog, don't aspire to be a blogger.

Won’t you get tired of writing quality posts every time and busy generating huge traffic from your site without any quick profit from the particular blog? If you won't get tired, then you are ripe for blogging.  Invest in your blog and you will surely gain it back in multiple folds.

That's enough for the listening ears.

Over to you... What do you think about this? Let's hear your opinion in the comment box below:
